While in the typical vineyard landscape of the Bündner Herrschaft region, it’s well worth making a detour just before Bad Ragaz to the famous «Heidi» resort of Maienfeld. Then along the Rhine dam, passing the historic bridge at Sevelen to Buchs.
Long and straight on the slightly elevated Rhone dam, the world’s longest piece of «sports equipment». On this stage, the focus is firmly on skating: you glide happily over the asphalt, the wind in your hair and the quiet whirr of the rollers in your ears.
Rorschach harbour is the scene of the action. Lidos and lakeside restaurants follow in quick succession. A visit to the old town in Arbon is recommended. On fine weekends the lake gets very busy and mutual tolerance is required!
A stage with lovely lakeside lidos and garden locales and always close to train stops. Some places with simply stunning views over the lake. In Kreuzlingen, the open border is an invitation to make a detour to Konstanz.
The classic image of Thurgau! Close to the lake, the route leads through a typical apple orchard landscape before running over slightly contoured terrain to Hagenwil Castle. In Weinfelden it’s well worth skating a couple of circuits in the LAS Inline Drome.
